The provincial capital of Lahore experienced a refreshing start on Saturday morning as light rain accompanied by cloudy skies welcomed its residents. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted drizzle with thunder in various parts of Lahore and the wider Punjab region, while also warning of oppressive weather conditions across most districts of the province.

Lahore’s temperature on Saturday was forecasted to range between 36-38°C, with a notable cloud cover over the city. The wind speed remained mild at 6 km/h. The Max Ultraviolet (UV) Index recorded a high value of 7, indicating increased UV radiation exposure. Despite the cloud cover, the visibility was estimated to be around 5 km.

The Air Quality Index (AQI) in Lahore was measured at 125, indicating unhealthy air conditions. The city’s air quality had reached elevated pollution levels, rendering it unsuitable for sensitive groups. Experts advised individuals experiencing symptoms such as breathing difficulties or throat irritation to limit their outdoor activities.

Moist currents from the Bay of Bengal were observed infiltrating the upper regions of the country, while a weak westerly wave was detected in the northern parts. The prevailing weather was expected to be predominantly hot and humid across most plains. However, there were predictions of isolated instances of rain, wind, and thundershowers in northeastern Punjab, Kashmir, and the adjacent hilly areas.
