Karachi is set to experience warm and humid weather over the next 24 hours, with temperatures ranging between 33°C and 35°C.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) reported that while the city will remain hot and humid, occasional sea breezes from the southwest may provide some relief.
Karachi recorded a minimum temperature of 20.5°C in the last 24 hours, with cooler evenings due to the coastal winds. Citizens are advised to stay hydrated and take precautions during peak heat hours.
Meanwhile, Neelum Valley and nearby high-altitude areas are slowly warming up as winter’s intensity decreases.
However, road blockages from heavy snowfall continue to cause difficulties, particularly in Taobat, Shounter, and upper Neelum Valley.
Due to impassable roads, residents must carry food and medicines on foot, and a shortage of essential supplies remains a concern.
With rising temperatures, the melting snow is increasing water flow in the Neelum River and its tributaries.
The National Highway Authority (NHA) has deployed machinery to clear blocked roads, with Executive Engineer Sohail Qayyum Qureshi estimating it may take two to three days to remove debris from avalanches and landslides.
Elsewhere, dry weather is expected across most parts of the country in the next 12 hours, though hilly regions may experience cold conditions during the early morning and night.
Morning temperatures recorded in major cities include Islamabad at 11°C, Lahore at 17°C, Karachi at 23°C, Peshawar at 15°C, and Quetta, Gilgit, and Murree at 6°C, while Muzaffarabad recorded 10°C.
In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, cold and dry conditions are expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramula, while Jammu will remain dry.
Morning temperatures recorded in these areas were 1°C in Srinagar, Pulwama, and Shopian, 14°C in Jammu, -6°C in Leh, and 0°C in Anantnag and Baramula.
