Karachi experienced its first spell of monsoon rain late Thursday night, with showers sweeping across various parts of the city.
Heavy rainfall was reported in areas such as Kathore, Gadap, Gulshan-e-Hadeed, Malir, Safora, Saadi Town, Model Colony, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Tariq Road, DHA, Scheme 33, and North Nazimabad.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted more showers, along with thunderstorms and strong winds, to continue intermittently over the next few days in Karachi.
According to the PMD, a westerly weather system has entered the western parts of Pakistan, bringing chances of widespread rainfall across Sindh from today until June 29.
Districts including Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas, Badin, and Thatta are also expected to receive thunderstorms and rainfall under this system. Similar weather is likely in Sujawal, Dadu, Sukkur, Larkana, and Khairpur as the monsoon sets in.
