Karachi: The Meteorological Department has provided the records about Karachi’s last night rainfall that has received heavy rainfall at 11 PM, revealing Gulshan-e-Hadeed recorded the highest amount at 42 millimeters. Nazimabad recorded with 26 millimeters and Surjani Town with 25.4 millimeters of rain. Other areas such as Saddar and PAF Faisal Base have also seen significant levels of rainfall.

The department has issued a forecast for ongoing rain in Karachi, attributed to a strong monsoon system that is expected to continue from August 27th until the 31st. As a precautionary measure, a rain emergency cell has been activated at the Chief Minister’s House. The city has already experienced intense thunderstorms, strong winds, and heavy downpours this evening.

Meteorologist Sarfraz Ahmed has issued a warning that Karachi may receive between 150 and 200 millimeters of rain, which could potentially lead to urban flooding from August 28th until the 30th. In light of these predictions, Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed all municipal authorities, district administration, and the irrigation department to be on high alert and ready to respond rapidly in case of any emergencies caused by the heavy rainfall.
