K-Electric has approached NEPRA with a proposal to reduce electricity rates by Rs4.69 per unit for April 2025 under the monthly fuel cost adjustment.
The regulatory authority is set to review this request today. If greenlit, the rate cut would provide K-Electric consumers with collective relief amounting to Rs7.17 billion.
The proposed reduction stems from decreased fuel prices during April and is part of the usual fuel charge adjustment process.
This development follows NEPRA’s recent decision on K-Electric’s write-off petition, where the authority approved Rs50 billion of the Rs76 billion the company had claimed for the MYT control period from FY2017 to FY2023.
