Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, is preparing for his second marriage, according to a report on Thursday, citing sources familiar with the matter.
As per party insiders, the engagement has been arranged within the Sharif family, and the bride-to-be belongs to a family from Lahore. The match was reportedly settled around six weeks ago.
Junaid, who completed his higher education in the United Kingdom and holds two bachelor’s and two master’s degrees from institutions including Cambridge University, is currently living in Lahore.
Both families are now coordinating to finalize dates for the engagement and nikkah, which will be decided mutually.
Previously, Junaid was married to Ayesha Saif, daughter of prominent Qatari businessman Saif-ur-Rehman Khan, in 2021. However, the marriage came to an end in October 2023.
“News about my divorce is true,” Junaid shared in an Instagram story. “This is an entirely private matter and I request the media to respect our privacy.”
