Private schools in Islamabad are scheduled to reopen on Monday, January 6 and there is no plan for the extension of the winter vacation despite the ongoing cold weather.
The Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) confirmed that the schedule will stay as planned and unchanged and cleared the rumors among parents about a possible extension on vacation.
Meanwhile, schools under the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) will resume their classes on January 9, 2025.
Moreover, schools in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) will remain closed for a longer period due to the continuing cold wave. The AJK Education Department has announced that both public and private schools in the region will now reopen on February 6, instead of February 2.
In KPK, schools will now reopen on January 7 as it was planned to open on January 1.
In Punjab, both public and private schools will remain closed until January 10 and the classes will resume on January 13.
Additionally, the Punjab Higher Education Department has confirmed that colleges will reopen on January 6 after the winter vacation, which began on December 24, 2024.
