The fares for metro and electric buses in Islamabad have been reduced back to their previous rates, effective immediately.
Recently, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) faced criticism after initially denying plans to raise ticket prices, then going ahead with the hike, which upset many commuters and advocacy groups.
Following public pressure, the CDA has now reversed the increase, restoring fares to ease the financial strain on daily riders.
Commuters have welcomed this change as a relief amid rising living expenses, but concerns remain about the CDA’s fare policies and the clarity of future fare adjustments.
