India crushes Pakistan in one-sided Champions Trophy clash

A brilliant century by Virat Kohli, supported by disciplined bowling, guided India to a comfortable six-wicket win over Pakistan in a crucial Champions Trophy 2025 clash at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.

Chasing a target of 242, India started strong, scoring 64 runs during the powerplay despite losing their captain Rohit Sharma early.

Rohit Sharma, who looked dangerous, was clean bowled by Shaheen Shah Afridi after scoring 20 runs off 15 balls, including three boundaries and a six.

With India at 31-1 in five overs, Virat Kohli joined Shubman Gill, the top-ranked ODI batter according to the ICC rankings, and the pair steadied the innings.

Pakistan’s fielding proved costly, as both Kohli and Gill were dropped on consecutive deliveries, allowing them to build a 69-run partnership for the second wicket.
