IG Islamabad discloses reason behind TikToker Sana Yousaf’s murder

Islamabad’s police chief, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has confirmed that 17-year-old TikTok star Sana Yousaf was shot dead after repeatedly rejecting the advances of the main suspect, known as Kaka.

During a press conference, the inspector general explained that the murder was the result of “a series of rejections.”

He shared that the accused had approached Sana seven to eight times and even tried to contact her multiple times on May 29, her birthday, including visiting her home.

“The suspect was angry over being ignored. She had refused to talk to him or accept his proposals,” said IG Rizvi.

He added that Sana was killed around 5 PM on June 2 with two gunshots. Authorities have recovered the murder weapon and her iPhone from Kaka’s possession.

Sana Yousaf was a popular social media personality, boasting over 800,000 followers on TikTok and nearly 500,000 on Instagram. Her videos mostly featured lip-sync performances in Urdu, Hindi, and Pashto.

Tragically, her last posts, shared just hours before her death, showed her celebrating her birthday with friends at a local Islamabad restaurant, cutting a cake and smiling for the camera.
