Gold prices saw a significant drop on Thursday, with the cost of 24-karat gold per tola falling by Rs6,700 to Rs335,200, compared to Rs341,900 a day earlier, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewelers Association.
This latest dip follows a volatile week: a steep Rs10,400 drop on Monday, a Rs3,700 rebound on Tuesday, and a Rs2,300 decline on Wednesday. With Thursday’s fall, the total decrease in gold price this week now stands at Rs. 15,700 per tola.
The 10-gram price of 24-karat gold also dropped by Rs5,745, now priced at Rs287,379 instead of Rs293,124. Meanwhile, 22-karat gold for the same weight slid by Rs5,266, bringing it down to Rs263,440 from Rs268,706.
Silver prices weren’t spared either. The per tola rate of silver dropped by Rs105 to Rs3,377, and the 10-gram rate went down by Rs90 to Rs2,985.
Globally, gold prices declined by $67 per ounce, reaching $3,168, while silver dropped by $1.05 to settle at $31.95, as per the association’s report.
