Gold prices in Pakistan surged sharply on Friday, crossing the Rs351,000 mark per tola amid rising global demand and investor interest in precious metals.
According to figures from the Saraffa Association, the price of 24-karat gold jumped by Rs3,500, reaching Rs351,000 per tola, while 10 grams rose by Rs3,000 to hit Rs300,925.
Today’s Gold Rates:
Gold Type | Old Price | Increase | New Price |
---|---|---|---|
Gold (per tola) | Rs347,500 | Rs3,500 | Rs351,000 |
Gold (10 grams) | Rs297,925 | Rs3,000 | Rs300,925 |
This spike comes right after a Rs1,900 drop on Thursday, which had temporarily brought the per tola rate down to Rs347,500.
The jump is in line with global trends, where gold prices rose by $35 to $3,326 per ounce, including a $20 premium, as reported by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
Analysts point to ongoing global economic uncertainty and investors turning to gold as a reliable safe haven for wealth preservation as key reasons behind the price hike.
