Germany and the United States (US) have made changes to their visa processes for Pakistani applicants. The German Consulate in Karachi has changed its passport collection hours for Ramadan, while the US Embassy has updated its online visa appointment system.
To accommodate those observing Ramadan, the German Consulate in Karachi has temporarily revised its passport collection schedule.
Until March 31, applicants can collect their passports between 1:30 pm and 2:30 pm, Monday to Thursday. Regular hours will resume after Eidul-Fitr.
This adjustment aligns with Pakistan’s practice of modifying working hours during Ramadan, as many offices and businesses reduce their timings to facilitate those fasting.
US Embassy Updates Visa Appointment System
The US Embassy in Pakistan has now made it mandatory for applicants to create an online profile before booking a visa appointment. This step aims to streamline the process and enhance security.
These changes come as reports arise regarding potential changes to US travel policies affecting multiple countries, including Pakistan.
While no official policy updates have been confirmed, analysts suggest that entry regulations for Pakistani visa applicants may become more stringent in the future.
