Gas container explosion claims 5 lives, 25 injures in Multan

A tragic gas container explosion in Multan on Monday claimed the lives of at least five people and left 25 others injured, including women and children, according to rescue officials.

The incident occurred when a fire broke out in a gas-filled container, causing a devastating explosion. The injured were rushed to Nishtar Hospital for treatment, while rescue teams reported that several homes collapsed due to explosions following the fire, according to Reports.

Rescue teams, assisted by 18 fire tenders, managed to control the fire, and cooling operations are still underway.

Officials confirmed they will remain at the site until the area is fully cleared. The disaster also led to the death of over 20 livestock animals.

Following the incident, families of the victims staged a protest, blocking the Muzaffargarh-Multan Road.

Protesters expressed their pain and anger, saying, “Our homes have been destroyed, and our children, women, and livestock have perished. No public representative has visited us yet.”
