Five-day public holiday declared for Eid-ul-Azha 2025

The Qatari government has announced a five-day holiday for Eid-ul-Azha 2025, allowing citizens to celebrate the occasion starting from the Day of Arfah, which falls on the 9th of Zilhaj, and continuing through to the 13th of the Islamic month.

The Day of Arfah is expected on June 5, depending on the sighting of the Zilhaj moon. Qatar’s moon sighting committee will meet on May 27 to make the official determination.

Eid-ul-Azha 2025 Holiday Schedule in Qatar:

If the moon is sighted on May 27, Zilhaj will begin on May 28; otherwise, it will start on May 29. The public holidays will be observed from the 9th to the 13th of Zilhaj, with exact Gregorian calendar dates to be finalized following the committee’s decision.

When is Eid-ul-Azha in Pakistan?

In Pakistan, the joyous festival is expected to be celebrated on Saturday, June 7, 2025. This would mean Pakistanis will observe Eid holidays from Saturday, June 7 to Monday, June 9.

Eid-ul-Azha, one of the most significant Islamic celebrations, honors the devotion and sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and his son Hazrat Ismael (AS).

Muslims around the world observe the occasion on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
