Fake Army officers seize millions from civilians, arrested by Police

Police in Khairpur’s Faiz Ganj area arrested a man pretending to be an Army Major along with his accomplice, who posed as his “private,” for collecting large sums of money from civilians under false pretenses.

Local sources say the two suspects, dressed in military uniforms, stopped vehicles and demanded illegal payments of Rs10,000 per vehicle, ultimately collecting millions from unsuspecting drivers and travelers in the area.

During the arrest, authorities recovered weapons from the men, who are now in custody. Investigations are underway to uncover the full scope of their activities and whether others were involved.

Residents of the area applauded the police for their prompt action and called for strict punishment for those who impersonate military officials and deceive the public.

This isn’t an isolated case; last year, three people, including one pretending to be an army officer, were arrested for impersonation and illegal entry into Swat University.
