In preparation for Eidul Azha, the district administration in Faisalabad has begun organizing seven temporary cattle markets to cater to the needs of residents.
Deputy Commissioner Captain (retd) Nadeem Nasir has directed all relevant departments to ensure these markets are fully functional and follow all official guidelines.
According to the plan, one market will be set up each in Faisalabad City, Saddar, Samundri, Tandlianwala, and Chak Jhumra. Jaranwala, due to its higher demand, will host two markets.
During a high-level meeting attended by ADC General Captain (retd) Tayyab Sami, assistant commissioners, cattle market authorities, traffic police, local government officials, and other departments, the deputy commissioner gave detailed instructions to ensure a timely setup and compliance with standard operating procedures.
He made it clear that no unauthorized cattle markets would be allowed to operate.
“Proper sanitation and drainage, especially in the event of rain, must be ensured,” he stressed. He also emphasized the importance of tight security and a well-organized traffic system to manage the expected crowds.
Departments have been asked to work closely with assistant commissioners to streamline preparations.
To curb illegal animal trading, special checkpoints will be established around the district.
ADC General Captain (retd) Tayyab Sami confirmed that the markets will open 10 days before Eidul Azha.
“Various facilities will be available at these markets, including fodder stalls, mobile banking units, water and electricity supply, tenting arrangements, medical booths, and rest areas for visitors,” he said.
He added that the administration is working to ensure this year’s arrangements are more thorough than ever, aiming to provide a smooth and regulated experience for both buyers and sellers.
“No one will be allowed to sell sacrificial animals outside the designated markets,” he reaffirmed.
