While Karachi has seen a break from the recent heat, the Pakistan Meteorological Department has cautioned that much of Sindh could face another extreme heatwave between April 24 and 29.
The Early Warning Centre reported that Karachi will remain warm and increasingly humid for the next three days, with temperatures likely peaking at 39°C on Wednesday and staying close to 38°C on Thursday and Friday, as per Express News.
Though the port city may be spared the worst, several interior districts are expected to bear the brunt of the rising heat.
Areas such as Dadu, Qambar Shahdadkot, Shaheed Benazirabad, Jacobabad, Kashmore, Ghotki, Shikarpur, Khairpur, Naushero Feroze, Larkana, Sukkur, Jamshoro, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Hyderabad, and Badin are forecast to experience temperatures 6 to 8 degrees higher than usual.
Meanwhile, Tharparkar, Umerkot, and Mirpurkhas could see a 4 to 6-degree increase above their normal highs.
The Meteorological Department has advised residents in all these areas to take extra care, especially during the hottest parts of the day, and to stay well-hydrated.
These elevated temperatures are expected to continue into early next week.
