Karachi, Hyderabad, and most parts of Sindh are bracing for continued intense heat over the coming days, as temperatures remain significantly above normal levels.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that dry and extremely hot weather will persist on Wednesday and the following two days, with daytime temperatures expected to be 4°C to 6°C higher than usual.
Gusty winds are also likely in Karachi and other coastal regions during the afternoons.
This prolonged heatwave is due to a dominant continental air pattern across much of Pakistan and a persistent high-pressure system over the central and southern areas, which is expected to linger for the next four days.
In Karachi, temperatures are forecast to reach between 35°C and 37°C on Wednesday, rising to 36°C to 38°C on Thursday.
Hyderabad is likely to experience even more intense heat, with maximum temperatures between 41°C and 43°C on Wednesday, and 42°C to 44°C on Thursday.
Over the past 24 hours, scorching conditions were reported across Sindh. Dadu and Jacobabad topped the charts as the hottest locations, hitting 47°C. Rohri, Khairpur, Nawabshah, and Larkana weren’t far behind, each recording 46°C.
Karachi saw a high of 36°C with evening humidity at 59 per cent, while Hyderabad registered 42°C with evening humidity at 33 per cent.
