Erdogan pledges Turkiye’s full partnership to Pakistan

Turkey issued a srern warning about the potential for full scale conflict between nuclear armed neighbors India and Pakistan. Following India’s overnight missile strikes, which marked the most serious military escalation between the two countries in two decades.

The Turkish government specifically supported Pakistan’s call for an independent investigation into the April 22 Pahalgam attack in Indian administered Kashmir, which killed 26 tourists.

While India blamed Pakistan for the incident without presenting any form of evidence, Turkey emphasized the need for diplomatic solutions “Including in the fight against terrorism.”

The warning comes amid deepening Turkey Pakistan ties, highlighted by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s February visit to Islamabad that yielded multiple defense and economic agreements.

As regional tensions reach dangerous levels, Turkey’s intervention adds an important Muslim voice to international calls for descalation, reflecting Ankara’s growing role as a mediator in South Asian conflicts.

With both India and Pakistan possessing nuclear capabilities, the global community watches anxiously as Turkey joins other nations in attempting to prevent what could become the most catastrophic confrontation in the region’s history.

The statement highlights how localized Kashmir disputes now carry implications far beyond South Asia’s borders, potentially drawing in other powers through existing alliance networks.
