This year, the United Arab Emirates is gearing up for a nine-day Eid holiday celebration, starting from April 8. Residents won’t need to take any additional leave from work to enjoy this extended break.
The duration of Eid-ul-Fitr, an important Islamic festival, depends on the sighting of the moon after the holy month of Ramadan. If Ramadan lasts 30 days, the holiday will run from April 8 to April 12, covering two weekends, according to reports.
However, if Ramadan lasts 29 days, the holiday will be from April 8 to April 11, also including weekends, providing a total of nine days off.

In Pakistan, Eid is expected to fall on April 10 or 11, with weekends following on April 13 and 14. This sets the stage for a five-day Eid holiday. But, by including Monday and Tuesday, people can extend their break to nine days, similar to the UAE.
Overall, residents in both the UAE and Pakistan can look forward to an extended period of festivities and relaxation during Eid-ul-Fitr this year.
