Eid celebrations continue as nation observes second day of Eid ul-Azha

KARACHI: Muslims across Pakistan marked the second day of Eid ul-Azha on Sunday with continued animal sacrifices, festive gatherings, and joyful celebrations with loved ones.

The spirit of Eid remained strong nationwide as many families carried on with the Qurbani ritual, which had begun a day earlier on Saturday.

Following tradition, the meat from the sacrificed animals was shared generously with family members, neighbors, and those in need highlighting the core values of compassion and charity that define the festival.

Public parks, picnic areas, and recreational spots in major cities were lively and crowded, with families enjoying the pleasant weather and vibrant Eid atmosphere. As always, hosting guests, preparing special dishes, and exchanging warm greetings added to the joy of the occasion.

This year, Eid ul-Azha was also marked by heartfelt prayers for oppressed people across the world, especially those in Gaza and Indian-occupied Kashmir. Many gatherings included special prayers for their peace and relief.

Officials, meanwhile, reminded citizens to properly dispose of animal remains and maintain cleanliness in their neighborhoods during the Eid days.

Eid ul-Azha honors the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), who was ready to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command. To commemorate his act of faith, Muslims around the globe sacrifice animals—typically goats, cows, or camels—and distribute the meat among family, friends, and the underprivileged.
