Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are expected to drop significantly in the next two weeks due to a decline in global oil prices and a decrease in the import premium on petrol, according to the report.
Sources suggest that petrol prices could fall by as much as Rs3.5 per litre, while high-speed diesel may drop by Rs7 per litre.
This price reduction aligns with a recent drop in global oil prices, with petrol decreasing by approximately $1.5 per barrel and diesel falling by $3 per barrel in the past two weeks.
Currently, the ex-depot price of petrol is Rs 252.63 per litre. The official price change will be confirmed on May 15, 2025, after calculations based on the prevailing tax rates.
This decline in fuel prices reflects a shift in the global market, where both import premiums and crude oil prices have been easing.
