Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has approved the establishment of 13 new Sahulat Bazaars across the province to provide essential goods at affordable prices.
These new markets, aimed at offering essential food items at low prices, will be set up in various locations, including Nowshera Warkan, Burewala, Kabirwala, Sangla Hill, Jalalpur, Bahawalpur, Attock, and Murree.
The district administrations have been directed to allocate land for the projects, which are expected to be completed by August.
To further reduce costs, the bazaars will be powered by solar energy, cutting electricity expenses by up to 70%. The savings will benefit consumers through lower prices.
Over Rs. 690 million has been approved for the solar energy conversion of these markets.
This initiative aligns with former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s vision of combating inflation and ensuring that low and middle-income families have access to affordable food items.
