Gold Medalist, Olympic champion, and national hero Arshad Nadeem was warmly welcomed in Karachi, where Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori, Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, and other provincial leaders honored him.
Nadeem expressed his deep appreciation for the love and support he received, thanking the people of Karachi and the leadership of Sindh from the bottom of his heart.
He shared his experience during a press conference with Kamran Khan Tessori from the javelin event that won him the gold medal. He admitted the challenge posed by his first throw but gave the credit to his second throw which led him to secure the victory.
He said, “After some difficulty in the first throw, I told myself on the second throw not to be too over. And that very throw got me the gold medal,”
Arshad Nadeem shared that his javelin throwing technique is different from Indian athlete Neeraj Chopra’s, and they each have their own style on the international stage. He also mentioned that “I will meet the army chief in a few days.”
To support education and the youth of Pakistan, Arshad announced that he will give 100 laptops to IT students at the Governor’s House. He also announced “I will prepare hard for the upcoming events and make the country even more proud,”
Arshad Nadeem recently visited the Chief Minister’s House, where he was warmly greeted by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah and other provincial leaders. To honor his incredible achievements, Shah presented him with Rs50 million, while Minister Nasir Shah announced a special gift—a car for Arshad’s mother, as a heartfelt thank-you from the nation.
In another thoughtful gesture, Sharjeel Inam Memon offered Arshad the chance to choose his custom registration plate. Mayor Murtaza Wahab also announced plans to establish an academy in Karachi that will bear Arshad Nadeem’s name, ensuring his legacy inspires future generations.
Later, during a visit to Quaid’s Mausoleum, Arshad shared how proud he was to have brought the nation together through his victory. He called his medal a symbol of unity for Pakistan and urged the government to support athletes by taking away their administrative duties, so they can fully focus on their sports.
Arshad also spoke about the importance of bringing back departmental teams, so athletes can dedicate themselves to training and make the country proud.
