ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir visited Wana in South Waziristan and Chehkan in Dera Ismail Khan on Monday to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with officers and troops stationed along the Western Border.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief offered Eid prayers and prayed for the long-term peace and prosperity of Pakistan.
During his interaction with the troops, General Munir extended warm Eid greetings and praised their unwavering dedication and outstanding service to the nation. “Your commitment and resilience not only secure our homeland but also exemplify your profound love for Pakistan,” he said.
He acknowledged the strong performance of the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies (LEAs), along with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who have consistently stood firm against the threat of terrorism.
The COAS credited the success of military operations to the tireless efforts of the formations and the sacrifices made by the martyrs, highlighting their commitment to the greater goal of ensuring peace and stability in the region.
On arrival, General Asim Munir was warmly welcomed by the Corps Commander Peshawar.
