Another water tanker set ablaze in Karachi after road accident

A furious mob set ablaze a water tanker near Karachi’s Sakhi Hassan area after it caused a road accident, according to the report on Friday, citing police sources.

The tanker, reportedly speeding, collided with a pedestrian named Imran at Chandni Chowk, injuring his leg.

Eyewitnesses recounted that the driver, in an attempt to flee, accelerated recklessly, knocking over several motorcycles before losing control and overturning at Five Star Chowrangi.

The enraged crowd then attacked the driver, who managed to escape, while the overturned vehicle was set ablaze.

Police confirmed that an investigation is underway to determine the exact sequence of events leading to the accident.

This incident follows another wave of violent protests in Karachi a day earlier when at least 11 dumpers and tankers were set on fire after a motorcyclist was fatally struck by a heavy vehicle in North Karachi’s Nagan Chowrangi area.
