Adiala road flyover worth Rs2.3 billion to open next week

Construction of the Nawaz Sharif Flyover on Adiala Road is almost complete and set to open by June 3, just ahead of Eid-ul-Adha, aiming to ease traffic flow in Rawalpindi.

During a recent site visit, Rawalpindi Commissioner Aamir Khattak, along with Additional Deputy Commissioner General Hassaan Tariq and officials from the Communication and Works Department, was briefed that 98% of the work is done. The project is expected to finish on time and will be formally inaugurated soon.

Commissioner Khattak emphasized meeting the deadline and ensuring transparency, quality, and safety throughout the final phase.

He highlighted the flyover’s significance in reducing traffic issues in the city and reaffirmed the government’s dedication to fast-tracking development projects in Punjab. He stated that “resources are being fully utilized to serve the public effectively.”

He also interacted with construction workers and the project’s contractor, urging them to stick to safety protocols and prioritize worker well-being to maintain smooth progress.

The commissioner reiterated that all public development efforts are being closely watched by the district administration, and he warned that “any delays or negligence would not be tolerated.”
