2 days of rainfall expected across different parts of Pakistan

The Met Office has forecast that a westerly wave is expected to enter the upper parts of the country tonight and remain in the region until October 7.

The weather system is likely to bring rain, strong winds and thunderstorms to several parts of the country, with isolated hailstorms also possible.

Punjab and Islamabad

Rain, windstorms and thunderstorms, along with isolated hailstorms, are expected in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Mianwali, Khushab, Sargodha, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Faisalabad on October 6 and 7.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Rain, windstorms and thunderstorms are expected in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from the night of October 5 through October 7. Isolated hailstorms may also occur.

The areas likely to receive rain include Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Shangla, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Malakand, Bajaur, Mohmand, Kohat, Peshawar, Charsadda, Nowshera, Mardan, Swabi, Khyber, Orakzai, Kurram, Hangu, Lakki Marwat, Karak, Bannu, D.I. Khan and Waziristan.

Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan

Rain, windstorms and thunderstorms, with isolated hailstorms, are expected in parts of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on October 6 and 7.

In Kashmir, the affected areas may include Neelum Valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber and Mirpur.

In Gilgit-Baltistan, rain is expected in Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche and Shigar.

Balochistan

Mostly hot and dry weather is expected across Balochistan. However, isolated rain and thunderstorms may occur in Zhob, Barkhan and Musakhel on the evening or night of October 6.

Sindh

Hot and dry conditions are expected to continue across Sindh over the coming days.
