More than 117,000 malaria cases have been reported across Sindh this year, with Hyderabad Division recording the highest number, according to Health Department data.
The department reported 117,016 cases across the province between January 1 and September 29. During the same period, more than 1.9 million people were screened for malaria.
Hyderabad Division reported the highest number of cases at 46,183, followed by Larkana with 33,785 cases. Shaheed Benazirabad recorded 13,005 cases, while Sukkur reported 12,058 and Mirpurkhas 10,898.
Karachi Division reported 1,087 malaria cases during the period. The Health Department said no cases of cerebral malaria had been reported in Sindh this year.
Officials said surveillance and screening activities were continuing across the province to keep track of the situation.
