Balochistan govt to upgrade 1,088 schools next year

The Balochistan government has decided to upgrade 679 primary schools and 409 middle schools in the coming fiscal year. Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti shared this announcement during an important budget meeting.

According to officials, the purpose of this initiative is to improve school infrastructure and create better learning environments across the province. The project will cover institutions in both major cities and far-flung rural areas.

During the session, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan gave a detailed briefing to the cabinet about the proposed plan. He noted that close to 1,000 schools are expected to benefit from these improvements. Authorities believe this step will help address the educational gap that has continued for the past 15 years.

Education experts are of the view that better facilities will encourage higher student enrollment and help reduce dropout rates. Planned upgrades include improved classrooms, science laboratories, libraries, and proper sanitation arrangements.
