Sindh govt declares public holiday on Jumma-Tul-Wida

The Sindh government has declared a public holiday on the occasion of Jumma-Tul-Wida. Sindh Minister for Local Government Nasir Hussain Shah also announced that a road in Karachi will be named after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

He further stated that no rallies will be permitted on Shahrah-e-Faisal and all organizations must take out their processions along their traditional routes. According to the minister, this restriction has been imposed in line with court orders.

Processions for Youm-e-Ali are taking place in both large and small cities across the country. In Karachi, several roads and streets in the Saddar area have been sealed with containers to maintain security during the processions.

At the same time, the Sindh government has introduced a four-day working week. Government offices will remain open from Monday to Thursday, while Friday, Saturday and Sunday will be observed as holidays. Authorities have also decided to cut fuel usage for government vehicles by 50 percent.
