Govt increases petrol and diesel prices from February 16

The Government of Pakistan has announced a notable increase in petroleum prices for the second half of February 2026.

The revised rates will take effect from February 16, 2026. This was confirmed in an official statement released on Sunday by the Ministry of Energy Petroleum Division.

According to the notification, the federal government adjusted prices following recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority. The move comes in response to shifting trends in the global oil market and fluctuations in the exchange rate.

Under the new pricing structure, the price of High Speed Diesel HSD has been raised by Rs7.32 per liter. The updated rate now stands at Rs275.70 compared to Rs268.38 which had been effective since February 1, 2026.

Likewise, the price of Motor Spirit MS commonly known as petrol has also gone up. The new rate for petrol has been fixed at Rs258.17 per liter reflecting an increase of Rs5.00 from the previous price of Rs253.17.
