Malala Yousafzai announces fully funded scholarships for Pakistani women at Oxford University

Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai has announced the opening of applications for the Malala Yousafzai Scholarship, a fully funded program launched in partnership with the Oxford Pakistan Programme.

The scholarship offers complete financial support to Pakistani women who wish to pursue a Master’s or higher degree at the University of Oxford.

“I want every girl in Pakistan to be able to pursue her dream, complete her education, choose her own future, and help the country progress,” Malala said while sharing the announcement on social media.

Malala, who completed her own degree at Oxford, explained that the scholarship reflects her dedication to supporting girls who face obstacles in accessing education. She remembered being denied schooling at age 11 when schools in her area were banned and emphasized that she did not want her story to be the only one of its kind.

The program is aimed at talented Pakistani women who aspire to study at Oxford and use their knowledge to bring positive change in the country. Interested candidates can apply through the Oxford Pakistan Programme website, where the application process is now open.

Malala stressed the potential of Pakistani girls to build successful careers, contribute to society, and take leadership roles in development initiatives. The scholarship will cover tuition fees, living costs, and other educational expenses, allowing students to fully concentrate on their studies.
