Islamabad, Rawalpindi suspend metro and green bus services today

Residents of Rawalpindi and Islamabad experienced travel difficulties today after the Metro Bus service was shut down in both cities. The Green Bus service in Rawalpindi was also stopped.

Sources within the Metro Bus administration said the decision to suspend operations was taken on the instructions of the district administration.

Authorities pointed to security risks connected to possible protests by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). However, officials stated that the overall situation in Rawalpindi is under control.

Passengers have been asked to arrange other means of transportation for the time being, as officials continue to assess the situation. No announcement has been made about when the bus services will start running again.
