The Sindh government has permitted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf to hold a public gathering at Jinnah Ground in Karachi on Sunday. In this connection, the PTI Karachi chapter has submitted Rs25 million as security to the Mazar-e-Quaid management, according to a report by 24NewsHD.
The amount was deposited through a pay order. The Sindh government also clarified that there was no restriction on PTI from holding a public rally and that the permission was granted in accordance with the law.
Earlier, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon stated that Chief Minister Afridi would be provided with complete protocol and foolproof security. He added that CM Afridi would be given a free hand to carry out political activities. Memon further said that if PTI requires any venue for a rally, the Sindh government will make arrangements.
He said the provincial government will facilitate the PTI chief minister in line with the law. However, he added that the political and ideological differences between the Pakistan Peoples Party and PTI will remain unchanged.
