The District Education Authority Lahore has put forward a plan to hold Basant celebrations on the rooftops of government schools. As part of this move, the authority has already mapped school buildings with concrete rooftops considered safe for kite flying.
Zonal officials have been instructed to prepare a detailed list of all such rooftops within the next two days. After the information is finalized, these rooftops will be made available for rent to facilitate organized and secure Basant activities.
Officials said the initiative aims to give school students an opportunity to take part in Basant celebrations and could mark Lahore’s first formally arranged Basant event in the last two decades.
