The Punjab Safe Cities Authority has introduced a new public service in Lahore by setting up mobile phone charging points at important locations to assist people in emergencies.
The move has been carried out on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and is aimed at making the city safer and more convenient for residents.
These facilities provide four key features, including a panic button, free Wi-Fi, and mobile phone charging, to help citizens stay connected and seek help when needed.
According to a spokesperson, the authority plans to install such stations at 100 locations across the city. So far, 30 sites have been completed, and people have already begun using the service.
