Good news for people struggling with inflation, as a significant reduction in petroleum prices has been proposed, as per the report on Tuesday.
Sources told the channel that there is a proposal to cut the price of petrol by Rs10.60 per liter. If approved, petrol, currently priced at Rs263.45 per liter, would be available at Rs252.85 per liter.
Similarly, the price of diesel may be reduced by Rs8.59 per liter. This would bring the current rate of Rs265.65 per liter down to Rs257.06.
Sources also said there is a suggestion to lower the price of kerosene oil by Rs8.92 per liter and light diesel by Rs6.62 per liter.
If the proposals are approved, the new prices will come into effect from January 1, 2026.
