Islamabad’s schools and colleges have formally shared their winter break plan, confirming that all institutions working under the Federal Directorate of Education will remain closed from December 26, 2025, to January 3, 2026, as per the report.
A notification stated that regular classes and academic work will restart on Monday, January 5, 2026.
The holidays will apply to all Islamabad Model Schools and Colleges located in both urban and rural areas, with the decision approved by the Director General FDE and conveyed to institutions through Area Education Officers.
An FDE official said, “The winter vacation schedule has been finalised keeping in view weather conditions and academic planning.”
The Directorate also announced that Saturday, January 10, 2026, will be treated as a working day for administrative, teaching, and non-teaching staff, who will report for duty to complete priority assignments already shared by the department.
The announcement gives students, parents, and teachers clear guidance, helping schools and colleges organise their academic plans smoothly during the winter season.
