Gold prices continued their upward surge in Pakistan on Friday, following a sharp rise in the global market.
Figures shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) show that the price of gold per tola jumped by Rs10,700 during the day, reaching Rs454,262. The rate for 10 grams also went up noticeably, increasing by Rs9,174 to settle at Rs389,456.
Just a day earlier, gold per tola had closed at Rs443,562 after a small rise of Rs500.
Internationally, gold saw a major boost as prices climbed by $107, touching $4,319 per ounce, which includes a $20 premium.
Silver prices in the local market also moved upward, with an increase of Rs232 per tola, bringing the new price to Rs6,684.
