The Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Education Department has changed school timings in Charsadda, Mardan, Swabi, and Nowshera after a rise in accidents caused by thick morning fog.
The decision was made following a recent crash in Charsadda where a school bus carrying students was hit, leaving many children injured.
Under the new order, all government schools in these districts will start classes at 9 am instead of 8 am, and each period will be shortened by five minutes.
The move is intended to reduce the risks students face during early morning travel when visibility is at its worst.
