Karachi Traffic Police has issued a fresh advisory for motorists and passengers, announcing stricter checks on seat belt use throughout the city.
While speaking to a private news channel, the DSP Traffic said that action will now be taken against both drivers and front-seat passengers who do not wear seat belts.
He also mentioned that if a driver repeats a traffic violation, any fine that was previously waived will now be recovered. The official emphasized that frequent offenders will no longer be given any relaxation under the revised enforcement plan.
He added that the department does not have access to registration information for vehicles registered in other provinces. He pointed out that complaints about vehicles with fake number plates have risen, leading to tighter monitoring.
