Pillion riding banned across province until November 30

The Balochistan government has enforced a complete ban on pillion riding under Section 144, effective until November 30, as per the report on Monday. Women and children are exempt from this restriction.

This comes as the second notification in five days extending prohibitory measures under Section 144.

The provincial government has also prohibited covering faces in public, the use of mufflers and masks, and the transport of explosive materials and sulfuric acid.

Officials stated that the latest directives follow amendments to the November 5 notification and are intended to maintain public safety and law and order amid heightened security concerns.

Meanwhile, the Punjab government extended Section 144 across the province for another seven days, keeping the ban on protests, rallies, sit-ins, and public gatherings until November 15.

The Punjab Home Department said the decision was made to prevent potential unrest and protect citizens, while exemptions remain for weddings, funerals, official duties, and court proceedings.
