Gold prices in Pakistan hit another record high on Tuesday, following the surge in the international market.
The All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) reported that the price of gold rose by Rs3,178 in a single day, taking it to Rs406,778 per tola. The rate for 10 grams also jumped by Rs2,725, reaching Rs348,746.
On Monday, gold was priced at Rs403,600 per tola after a sharp rise of Rs5,900.
Globally, the precious metal maintained its upward momentum, with APGJSA noting the international price at $3,855 per ounce (including a $20 premium), an increase of $37 in a day.
Silver, however, showed a downward trend as its price slipped by Rs16 per tola, closing at Rs4,776.
