Karachi weather remains humid, light rain expected this week

KARACHI: The weather in Karachi stayed partly cloudy on Monday with high humidity, as per the report, citing the Pakistan Meteorological Department.

According to details, the city is likely to see light rain and cloudy conditions over the next four to five days.

The minimum temperature recorded in the morning was 26.9°C, while the current reading stands at 30°C.

Humidity levels have reached 81 percent, adding to the muggy atmosphere, with winds blowing from the southwest at 15 km/h.

The Met Department has forecast partly cloudy skies in the coming days, with chances of light rain or drizzle in some areas. Daytime temperatures are expected to stay between 31°C and 33°C, along with persistent humidity.

Meanwhile, monsoon rains continue to hit different parts of the country. Takht Bhai in Mardan received the heaviest rainfall, measuring 79 millimeters.

More rain, along with winds and thunderstorms, is likely in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan over the next 12 hours.

This morning, temperatures in major cities were recorded as follows: Islamabad, Quetta, and Muzaffarabad, 22°C; Lahore, 28°C; Karachi, 27°C; Peshawar, 24°C; Gilgit, 20°C; and Murree, 12°C.

For Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the forecast predicts cloudy weather with intermittent rain, thunderstorms and isolated heavy showers in Srinagar, Jammu, Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla.

This morning’s temperatures were Srinagar, Pulwama and Anantnag 19°C, Jammu 25°C, Leh 13°C, while Shopian and Baramulla recorded 20°C.
