Punjab offers internship program with Rs60,000 monthly stipend

The Punjab government has launched its first large-scale internship program for 1,000 veterinary graduates and paraveterinary professionals, with an allocation of Rs600 million.

Under the Chief Minister’s Internship Program, veterinary graduates will receive a monthly stipend of Rs60,000, while paravets and livestock assistants will be paid Rs40,000 during the internship period.

Graduates with a DVM degree recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) can apply within their districts, while those holding a two-year LAD diploma are also eligible.

Applications can be submitted online through the official portal: www.jobs.punjab.gov.pk.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif highlighted that the program will provide doorstep treatment and consultation services to livestock farmers, while also equipping young professionals with field experience and financial support.

She added that the initiative aims to boost Punjab’s livestock sector by increasing milk and meat production, which in turn would strengthen foreign exchange reserves.

“We want to transform Punjab into a hub of livestock and dairy development. We stand with livestock farmers today and will continue to support them in the future,” she said.

Quotas have also been set for Veterinary Assistants, AI Technicians, and Lab Assistants across all 36 districts of Punjab.
