After earlier raids in Islamabad and Battagram, authorities have now recovered donkey meat from a village near Kasur.
Acting on intelligence, police raided a location in Kotli Rai Abu Bakar, a village on the outskirts of Kasur. During the operation, one suspect was caught while three others managed to flee the scene.
Several maunds of meat were seized, and a case has been registered. Investigations are still ongoing to trace the remaining culprits.
This incident comes just days after a similar raid in the Kuzabanda area of Battagram district, where officials confiscated meat from a slaughtered donkey.
Two men from Hunza and Mansehra were arrested in that case after a joint operation by the Additional Assistant Commissioner and a Food Inspector, following a tip-off.
Earlier, in a major operation against the illegal meat trade, the Islamabad Food Authority discovered around 1,000 kilograms of donkey meat at a farmhouse in Tarnol. Over 50 live donkeys were also found on the premises, and a foreign national was taken into custody.
Authorities have stated that these operations will continue in order to stop the illegal meat trade and ensure public health and safety.
