In a surprising turn, India has quietly lifted the digital ban on several prominent Pakistani YouTube channels and social media accounts, once again allowing Indian users to access content from across the border.
This step comes months after tensions flared following the Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025, which led to sweeping digital restrictions on Pakistani entertainment in India.
As per reports, Indian users can now once again view Instagram profiles of Pakistani stars such as Ahad Raza Mir, Yumna Zaidi, Mawra Hocane, Danish Taimoor, and Dananeer Mobeen.
In addition, official pages of leading Pakistani entertainment channels including HUM TV, ARY Digital, and Geo Entertainment are accessible again after having been previously restricted.
While many fans welcomed the return of Pakistani content and some questioned the decision.
The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reimpose the ban, citing the strong public emotions tied to the Pahalgam attack and India’s subsequent military action.
So far, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has not released any official statement explaining the reversal.
The sudden lifting of the ban also triggered a wave of reactions online, with many Indian social media users voicing their disappointment on platform X (formerly Twitter), questioning the timing and intent behind the decision.

Though it’s uncertain whether this fresh access to Pakistani dramas and celebrity content will last or be revoked again in the future, for now, Indian audiences are once again tuning in to their favorite shows and stars after a months-long absence.
It’s worth noting that the original ban had disrupted several film projects involving Pakistani actors like Fawad Khan and Hania Aamir, with some releases delayed or shelved entirely.
Despite the clampdown, Pakistani series such as Sher, Man Mast Malang, and Parvarish continued to attract a loyal Indian audience, often through alternate streaming sources.
