IT department of capital’s police launched an Online Taxi Verification App, where citizens can verify their cabs before the beginning of their journey. The key objective of this initiative taken by Islamabad police is to lower the number of crimes associated with unverified or fake vehicles.
This move will also mark the assurance of passengers safety, who frequently use online cabs using this app for their day-to-day safe traveling across Islamabad.
After installing, the app lets the users use its generative QR system, which appears on the taxi, instantly verifying whether the vehicle is registered with Islamabad Police before starting their journey.
This security is extremely useful in an era of rising reliance on ride-hailing services and online bookings. It adds an extra layer of accountability for taxi drivers and reassurance for passengers.
